MOF and Current Treatment
Multiple Organ Failure (MOF)
MOF starts with one of the detoxification organ failure: kidney, liver, lung
Once started, there is no drug/therapy that can reverse the organ failure process
The Gold Standard to treat MOF is Organ Transplantation
The mortality rate of MOF remains high at around 50%-80%
Currently physicians replicate the failing organ function with organ support devices.
Two common issues of organ failure are poor toxin removal and exess body fluid
For critically ill patients the 28-day survival rate is only 10%.
Twenty eight days are short to wait for an organ match
What is AMOR?
Our Advanced Multi-Organ Replacement system (AMOR) is a lifeline for un-transplantable patients and a bridge for transplant candidates. This state of the art system supports multiple organs, including liver and kidney, with lung function to be added.
Why AMOR?
Supports Multiple Organs
Supports live, kidney, with lung to be added soon
Maximum Efficiency and efficacy
Maximizing protein bound detoxification and body fluid removal
Easy to Use
Maintain blood pressure and operate easily without special training
Low Cost
An order of magnitude less expensive than existing methods
Clinical Trial
A clinical study at UW Medicine was conducted with AMOR prototype which could support both liver and kidney functions. .
10 liver failure patients accompanied by MOF were selected. They have failed in all existing treatments.
Using AMOR, all 10 patients were improved. Their survival rate was increased from 10% to 80%.
Our team is composed of renouned medical scholars and reserchers from University of Washington, where the kidney dialysis technology was inventd. We also have expert technologists, entreprenuers as well as a student team with extensive startup experience. Our innovation is protected by provisional patents.
